Wolseley is situated in the picturesque
Breede River Valley, 14 km from Tulbagh, 15 km from Ceres and
40km from Worcester. Wolseley is surrounded by the Waaihoek, Waterval
and Witzenberg mountains, which are often covered with snow in
winter.
In 1875 a railway from Wellington to
the farm Goedgevonden was completed. Two blockhouses dating
back to Anglo Boer War can still be seen next to the railway
line. Contact the Tourist Information to organise a visit. The
town is on a watershed and contributes water to both the Atlantic
and Indian Oceans.
